Angelia’s Blog :)

Hello everyone!  This is Angelia, Daniel’s wife.  We thought it may be nice to hear from me every once and a while.  So here goes . . .

Cyber Monday (Tuesday and Wednesday) Sale – Black Friday is definitely one of my favorite holidays of the year.  I’ve been searching Black Friday Ads online since October and had my shopping list prepared at the end of October.  I LOVE Black Friday!  In honor of this special holiday and Cyber Monday, we are going to run a special on Daniel’s CDs.  I know that both have technically passed, but those of you that know me understand that I am a firm believer in the statement “Better late than never!” You can get all four CDs for $30 with FREE shipping!  For those of you that love a deal, that is 50% off the normal price of $15 a CD! You will not find them cheaper, ever! On the right side of this page click on the “Donate” button.  “Donate” $30 to our ministry, and we’ll mail you the CDs.  Be sure to include your name, address and phone number in your submission.  This will be the only sale DCM will be having this Christmas season, so be sure to take advantage of it!  This special ends on Wednesday at midnight (EST).

Our Story – We met in Chorus at Bradford Middle School when I was in the eighth grade.  He loves to point out that he was in the seventh grade at the time.  :)  That year, some friends from chorus, including Daniel, came to visit me and I came to know the Lord.  As my relationship with Christ grew, so did my love for Daniel.  We were best friends until tenth grade, when we decided to date.  We got married while we both were in college at UNF and have been married for nearly seven years.

Our Ministry – When we got married, we never expected to be serving the Lord together in the capacity that we do today.  After teaching high school English for five years, Daniel and I decided to step out on faith and pursue Daniel Crews Ministries (DCM) together full-time.  Due to my Type A personality, I willingly took on the administrative aspect of our ministry.  On Sundays, you can normally find me in the back running sound or at the product table after the service.  We are with each other 24/7, which is a great thing.  ;)  I love being able to spend so much time with him, although at times I don’t think he always has the same appreciation!  JK!  All joking aside, it’s a true joy to minister with such a transparent, caring and godly man.  Daniel is the same on and off the stage, definitely one of my favorite characteristics of him.  We pray continuously that God will use the two of us to bring believers closer Christ and lead those that don’t know Him to His forgiveness and grace.

Gulfport, Mississippi – We were at First Baptist Church Gulfport a couple weeks ago due to a very special couple, Pat and Betty Peck.  We met the Peck family a little over a year ago in Memphis, Tennessee.  Ever since then, they have attended all of Daniel’s concerts within a five hour radius of Gulfport. Mrs. Betty refers to herself as a DCM groupie.  :)  We were able to spend a little time with them that weekend.  It was nice getting to know such a sweet couple.  FBC Gulfport was a wonderful church.  The ministers and media staff were great to minister with.  A special thank you to Bro. Ken, the Music Minister, for making us feel so welcome.  Dawayne, a gifted pianist on staff at FBC in Lavaca, Arkansas, was with us that weekend too.  He always adds a special element to the concert.  Daniel and Dawayne did the special music in both morning services and then a concert that evening.  A side note, FBC Gulfport has an incredible choir and orchestra.  We couldn’t believe the sound they were producing.  It was refreshing to see so many talented people use their gifts for the Lord.  On Monday, Daniel did the music with Gerald Simmons for the revival at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Gulfport.  Here is a picture of us with the Peck’s and Gerald Simmons.

New Orleans, LA – Another special family from Walker, Louisiana was in attendance at the concert at FBC Gulfport.  We’ve ministered with the Forbes family the last three years as part of Rick Coram Ministries Youth Camps and Adult Conference.  Check out www.rickcoramministries.com for more info on his youth camps and adult conference.  Anyway, they always talk about how great the food is in Louisiana.  Since we were only an hour and a half away from NOLA, we decided to go there for a day with a list of recommendations from them.  We based our entire trip around eating, which is one of our favorite hobbies.  Lol!  We ate beignets and Daniel had coffee at Café Du Monde in the French Quarter.  The pigeons were everywhere, which was a little unsanitary in my opinion.  :)  We also ate at Irene’s Restaurant, a quaint French Creole restaurant, and Stanley’s on Jackson Square, a yummy cafe.  Both were delicious and unique to the area, which are two of our favorite prerequisites for a restaurant.  Here are a few pics of our visit to NOLA.

Emma Kate – As you know, I am 31 weeks pregnant with little Emma Kate.  Honestly, the whole pregnancy thing hasn’t been too bad traveling, although we have to stop more frequently for potty breaks and stretching.  :)  Last Tuesday we did a 3D/4D ultrasound in Jacksonville so our family could see little Emma Kate.  It was so neat to see their reactions and excitement. My brother and his wife are also expecting and were there.  We convinced them to get a sonogram that night, and they found out they are having a little boy, Carter Joseph.  Congrats!  Here are a couple pics of Emma Kate’s sonogram.

Please pray for us as we begin setting up her nursery in December; I’ve heard it’s a long and challenging process.  However, I cannot wait for Daniel to put together the crib.  It’s going to be hilarious!  Everyone asks if I am going to stay home with Emma Kate once she is born.  The answer is “yes” and “no”.  The plan is for me to take off February and then we’ll bring her along as the third member of our DCM team beginning in March.  That’s the plan, but who knows what will transpire once she’s here.  While I’m at home recovering, our good friend and sound extraordinaire, Jake Prevatt, will be filling in for me.  Thanks Jake!

Thanksgiving – We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our families in Starke last week.  I love when we are able to get together with everyone and enjoy the fellowship and the delicious food.  We are truly blessed with families and friends that love the Lord.  We are so thankful for them. Here is a pic of my recent maternity session with Matt Whytsell photography. www.mwpic.com. Thanks Spike!!

Well, thanks for reading and don’t forget about the Christmas special we are running through Wednesday!

Angelia :)

The Long Awaited Blog…

Ok, it is official; I am the worst blogger on the planet. Angelia is going to start blogging on here, every now and then, that way you will hear from us more often. I have literally started about three blogs and never finished them. I don’t know what that says about me, but it can’t be good. I think it’s because I try to tell you eveything that has happened since I wrote last and that is an impossible feat. So here I am, I am going to finish this one. Here goes…

Angelia and I are sitting at the dinning room table here in Atlanta and we just finished some of the best homemade chicken and dumplings we have ever had. With the basic recipe my brother gave me of home-made chicken broth and my own special touches, it was absolutely unbelieveable! (He is a great cook, I want to cook like him when I grow up.) If you want the recipe, email me. :) We finally feel settled here in Atlanta and we love it. Minus the traffic, we love it. :^)

As many of you know, Angelia is 26 weeks along with our first baby and she is doing well. She has had very little sickness and no complications, so praise the Lord! Please keep us in your prayers. She will be taking maternity pictures soon, so I’ll keep you posted. O yeah, and we will be doing the 3D/4D sonogram as well. She just told me we could post that on here when we get it done. She wouldn’t let me put the first sonogram on here because she didn’t want a picture of her uterus on the internet. (I thought that was hilarious.) Anyways, can’t wait for you to see Emma Kate!

Thank you to everyone who has already purchased the new record, “Blessed”. We worked so hard on this project, and we are thankful for what God allowed us to come up with. I say it everywhere we go, we did not put this project together with the goal of selling as many as possible, but that God would use these songs for His divine purpose. I pray the Lord will continue to encourage and change lives through this ministry.  Also, thank you to those who spread the word about our ministry. It is a tremendous blessing to us and a large part of how we do what we do. So please, keep doing it!

By the way, the new project, “Blessed”, and “Daniel Crews Live” are now available on iTunes and Amazon. Go download them just for fun!

So much has happened since I blogged last so I can’t talk about everything, but I have to mention my Nonna. Nonna, my grandmother, passed away a few months ago.  She was no doubt one of the most important and loved persons in my life. It is safe to say there will never be a day that goes by that I won’t think of her. She exemplified love. It was obvious to everyone how much she loved God, His Word, her family and others. It seemed like everyone called her Nonna, even if they were just an aquaintance. I think it was because they knew she loved them. People would always come to her for Godly advice (me, probably the most), and she would always tell you exactly what she thought, whether you liked it or not. But what was awesome was that her advice came from years of walking with the Lord. She was so wise and I will miss her words of wisdom greatly. I almost didn’t write this because a simple paragraph in a blog could never properly pay tribute to the legacy of love she left behind and especially what she meant to me. I will miss and love her always…

Love you all!

Get Your Christmas Gifts!

Hello Everyone!

Starting today until December 17th, Daniel Crews Ministries will be offering a Christmas special!! This special will last for one week only.

For $35.00, you will receive all three of Daniel’s projects along with the newly released DVD, “Song of a Lifetime”, featuring First Baptist Church Atlanta’s Choir and Orchestra along with many other artists and songwriters.

Here is a little bit about the DVD…

On Sunday, May 2, 2010 an overflow capacity audience gathered at Atlanta First Baptist for their second annual event of the SONG of a LIFETIME tour.  Hosted by Phil Cross, the two-hour program featured inspiring stories behind some of gospel music’s most loved songs along with the Atlanta First Baptist Choir and Orchestra, The Talley Trio, Carol Cymbala, Daniel Crews, Lynda Randle, Gerald Crabb, and Rebecca Peck.

This event was a labor of love presented by Phil Cross, Rodney Brooks, and Barry Edwards. It was captured on video by InTouch Ministries, the world-wide outreach of Dr. Charles Stanley.  From the opening prayer by Dr. Stanley to the thrilling grand finale, this was an anointed, inspiring evening to remember!  This DVD contains bonus features that include intimate interviews with the participating artists and songwriters.

Also, I think you can get a sneak peak on www.songofalifetime.net.

In the craziness of trying to get my blog done, I accidently forgot to include one of the churches I had the privilege of serving. After Idlewild Baptist Church, Angelia, Dawayne and I flew out to Texas. We spent Monday – Wednesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church for their revival services with one of the greatest evangelist on the planet, Bro. Rick Coram. It was great getting to know all the kind people at Hillcrest and also spending time with Pastor Mike and his family. It was so much fun as well having extra time with Bro. Rick, his wife Mrs. Judy, and his son Jonathan. I have the honor of serving with Bro. Rick during the summer at his youth camps.  Thank you Bro. Rick for everything you do for our ministry. Love you all! It really was an eventful and powerful time, I have no idea how I could’ve possibly forgetten to include this… sorry. I’ve added some pictures in the photo section…

First of all, let me say what an incredible October our ministry had. Angelia and I are so blessed to have the opportunity to travel to different places, meet new people and share the love of Jesus through music. I am always at a loss for words trying to explain my gratitude for this dream come true.

Well, here is the big news… it is official; starting this coming up January I will be the first Resident Artist for FBC Atlanta with Dr. Charles Stanley. I honestly cannot believe I am able to type that. We are extremely excited about this new chapter in our lives. Angelia and I are in the beginning stages of preparing to move there, so please pray for us as we transition. The position as Resident Artist is a two year commitment and will entail me singing at FBC Atlanta once a month and representing them everywhere else I have the privilege to sing. I will then have three and sometimes four Sundays a month to book out like normal. So to be clear, other than singing there once and month, representing FBA everywhere I sing and seeing me on InTouch more; nothing is different :) I am a full-time traveling soloist who would love to come to your church and minister, and I believe this new position is something that God is going to use to open more doors for people to hear the Good News!

I have been traveling as a soloist for five years, also singing dates with a group called Calvary’s Voice. This year was the first year I traveled full-time as a soloist. This wasn’t something we were coherently pursuing; however, God gradually and continually opened up doors. I have learned so much over these past five years traveling with Calvary’s Voice, and I am so thankful for the time I had with them.  Telling Greg, manager of CV, that God was leading me into another direction in ministry was one of the hardest things I have ever had to prepare for. When you travel with someone for five years, they are unmistakably like family and the last thing I wanted to do was hurt him or the ministry of Calvary’s Voice. Despite my worry, God had it all under control. When I shared with Greg my heart, it was obvious the Lord had already prepared him for the news, and he was an encouragement to me. There was nothing but words of kindness and tears of joy for what the Lord has in store for us both. I love Greg, Bryan and their families and will continue to pray for them and their ministry. I will sincerely miss traveling with you both. Also, thank you so much to those who have supported Calvary’s Voice and me over these past five years. I hope you will continue to pray and support both of our ministries as we embark on these new journeys. In case you were wondering, I will be fulfilling all Calvary’s Voice dates for the remainder of the year.

Those who know me well understand that it is true when I say if you were to tell me two years ago that I would be doing solo concerts and be in full-time ministry, as a soloist, I would have told you, “You’re crazy!” Over the past two years, God has truly changed and prepared my heart for what is ahead. There is no longer a fear when I get on stage by myself; it is an unexplainable excitement about what the Lord has done in my life and what He can do for others. I find myself often praying to God that He would put me in front of the exact people he wants at each concert for His divine purpose. What I love about this is it takes all the stress off of me. Of course, I am thankful to be busy and want to continue to stay that way; however, most of all I want to be exactly where the Lord wants me.

Our October was comprised of many different ministry opportunities. We started at the Impact for Living Men’s Conference at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Florida. After the conference, I had the opportunity to sing at Idlewild for Celebration Sunday. What an incredible church! That Sunday marked the 21st anniversary of Dr. Ken Whitten as their pastor. I sang a couple of songs Sunday morning and did a full concert Sunday night.  Pastor Ken was so kind and generous to ask me to be a part of this special day. He is the pastor of a church running around 8,000 people on a Sunday morning and as down to earth as it gets. It means so much to me to see someone in his position be real. It’s obvious he loves Jesus and he loves people.

Then we had the opportunity to minister with FBC Middleburg, Florida. The church was putting on Harvest Day with Evangelist Junior Hill as the guest speaker. It was a great day. I sang a couple songs in the morning services and then did a mini-concert before the message on Sunday night. Many people came to know that Lord, and it was awesome to see the Holy Spirit move. Dr. Hill truly has a gift of sharing the Gospel. By the way, FBC Middleburg music, sound and media have it going on! :) Can’t wait to go back during Christmas!

Two weeks ago, I was at my home church! I love going home. I did the Sunday morning specials and did a full concert Sunday night. (Are you catching the pattern?) So many people put so much work into it and it was well worth it. Great band, great songs and the only Message…Jesus Saves! Thanks to everyone who came out.

We ended the month at Fruit Cove Baptist Church in Jacksonville FL. Such a loving church! I sang in both of their Sunday morning services. After the services I had lunch with Pastor Tim, his family and Bro. Richard Thompson (music minister) at their beautiful home. Thank you so much for your hospitality. It was delicious.

I have uploaded about five new albums under the photo section of these events. The album from FBC Starke are pics taken by my good friend, Matthew Whytsell, who is an awesome photographer. www.mwpic.com Check him out.

Here are a couple of clips from Idlewild Baptist Church. Also, I did an evangelism conference at Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, Florida at the end of September and there are a couple from that too.

Well, I feel like I have talked your ears off this time. I guess I will stop. I will keep you posted on our new ventures.

Please put us in your prayers!

Love you all,
